In April 2021, a court in the Netherlands convicted a man of removing a condom during intercourse without his partner’s consent. He was sentenced to ten months in jail and was ordered to pay a fine of €2,000. The man was also required to undergo psychological treatment and to do community service. The court found that the man had violated the woman’s right to sexual autonomy and her right to physical integrity. This is the first time that a Dutch court has convicted someone of this particular crime.
