CEO of Tata Consultancy Services Rajesh Gopinathan will retire

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced that its chief executive officer and managing director, Rajesh Gopinathan, will step down from his role effective April 12.

The company said in a statement that Gopinathan will be succeeded by TCS’ Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, N. Chandrasekaran, who is also the Chairman of Tata Sons.

Gopinathan will remain with the company as an advisor until September 30, 2021.

Gopinathan, who has been with the company since 2001, took over as CEO in 2017 and has been instrumental in the growth and success of TCS.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead TCS and be part of a team that has delivered industry-leading growth while staying true to its values,” said Gopinathan.

“I have no doubt that under the leadership of N. Chandrasekaran, TCS will continue to create even greater value for customers, employees and all its stakeholders.”
