A tremor of magnitude 4.4 occurs in Goksun, Turkey

A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck Turkey’s Goksun province on Wednesday. The earthquake was centered about 100 kilometers (62 miles) south of the city of Kayseri and had a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

Turkey is located in a seismically active region and often experiences earthquakes. The last major earthquake occurred in January 2020, when a magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck eastern Turkey, killing 41 people and injuring more than 1,600.
