This is the first state in the union to forbid abortion drugs

The first US state to outlaw abortion pills was Arkansas. The state passed an anti-abortion law in March 2021 that made it illegal for medical professionals and pharmacists to prescribe or dispense drugs used to induce an abortion. The law was signed by Governor Asa Hutchinson, who said it was necessary to ensure the safety of women. The law has been challenged in court by the American Civil Liberties Union, who argue that it would effectively ban medication abortion in the state.
