According to the latest data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC), private refiners such as Reliance Industries and Nayara Energy accounted for almost 95% of the total fuel exports to Europe during the April-February period of 2020-21.
These two refiners alone accounted for 94.4% of the total exports, with Reliance Industries exporting 3.4 million metric tonnes (MMT) and Nayara Energy exporting 2.6 MMT. During the same period, state-run refiners such as Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation accounted for the remaining 5.6% of exports.
