Oman’s Boeing 737 in flight Iran’s runway trash damages the air, leaving aircraft stranded


On June 19, 2020, an Oman Air Boeing 737-800 aircraft was damaged after running over debris on the runway at an airport in Iran. The debris had been left behind after a previous flight. The incident resulted in the aircraft being stranded and the passengers having to be rerouted to their destination.

The incident is currently under investigation. The airline has stated that the aircraft was inspected on the ground and that no passengers were injured. The aircraft is currently being repaired in Iran. It is unclear when the aircraft will be able to resume operations.
