According to a recent report from the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, a Chinese fishing vessel capsized in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Somalia on August 28th, resulting in 39 crew members missing.
The vessel, named Yuhai 1, was reported to have been operating in waters off the coast of Somalia when it capsized due to strong winds and high waves. Of the 40 crew members on board, one was rescued by a nearby fishing vessel. The remaining 39 crew members are still missing.
The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said in a statement that it is in close contact with the Chinese Embassy in Kenya and is coordinating with the relevant departments to rescue the missing crew members.
The ministry also stated that it will continue to monitor the situation and provide the necessary assistance to the families of the missing crew members.
