Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a five-day visit to Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Australia from May 19-24, 2019. This is the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Papua New Guinea and the first standalone visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Australia.
During his visit to Japan, Prime Minister Modi will be attending the G20 Summit in Osaka. He will hold bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and meet with the Japanese business leaders.
In Papua New Guinea, Prime Minister Modi will hold talks with Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and other senior leaders and discuss issues of mutual interests. He will also address the APEC Business Advisory Council Plenary Session.
In Australia, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Scott Morrison and discuss regional and international matters of mutual interests. He will also address the Indian diaspora in Australia.
