In a move to promote the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) in India, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri said that achieving the aspiration of 1 percent SAF blending in jet fuel for all commercial flights by 2025 is “doable”.
He was addressing the Global Renewable Jet Fuel Summit: India organised by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
The Minister said, “This is a vision for the entire aviation industry in the country to work towards and I am confident that with joint commitments from the Government, airlines, and alternative fuel producers, we can achieve this aspiration by 2025.”
