An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has granted pre-arrest bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in three cases filed against him in connection with the protest against alleged rigging in the general elections last year.

A notification issued by the ATC states that Imran Khan has been granted bail against the bonds of Rs.500,000 in each of the cases.

The cases were filed by Islamabad Police at the ATC after clashes broke out between protesters and the police at the 2014 Pakistan election rally held in Islamabad. The cases include disrupting peace and activities classified as terrorism, and pelting stones at police personnel.

Imran Khan had appeared in court for a hearing on Monday. The ATC has set the date of May 15 for the next hearing in the matter.
