Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar requesting him to issue directions to declare the arrest of Baloch leader Dr Allah Nazar Baloch as illegal and unconstitutional. The letter was written by JI Secretary-General Liaquat Baloch to the chief justice.

In the letter, Liaquat Baloch expressed his reservations about the reported arrest of Dr Allah Nazar Baloch and alleged that such arrests are attempts made to suppress the peaceful voice of Balochistan. He further argued that such moves are against fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution of Pakistan and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The JI secretary-general further requested the chief justice to issue directions to declare such arrests as unconstitutional and illegal. He urged the chief justice to ensure the safe release of Dr Allah Nazar Baloch as well as all Baloch political prisoners.
