Polish Prime Minister receives invitation to COP28 from UAE Vice President Mohammed bin Rashid

The United Arab Emirates Vice President Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has sent an invitation to the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, to attend the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Abu Dhabi in 2021.

The invitation was sent during a meeting held between Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and a team from the Polish government.

The two sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral ties and awarded the upcoming COP28 the opportunity to make the UAE “the world’s platform for environment, sustainability and development,” Sheikh Mohammed said in a statement sent by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The UAE is fully committed to the environmental agenda and to leading the global efforts in protect and sustain our planet, he said, expressing the UAE’s keenness to deepen cooperation with Poland in view of its membership of the European Union.

The UAE has made tremendous gains in the energy sector undertaken pioneering initiatives to support renewable energy initiatives, investment in renewable energy sources of power generation, energy efficiency programs, and research and develop new clean technologies.
