Two soldiers and three terrorists were killed during a military operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Monday, military officials said.

The operation was conducted by Pakistan’s Frontier Corps, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the military’s media wing.

The security forces launched a crackdown against the terrorists after receiving information about their presence in a mountainous area of the Shawal area in South Waziristan.

Following an exchange of fire, three terrorists were killed in the ensuing encounter while two soldiers also sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

The security personnel recovered various weapons and explosives from the possession of the terrorists.
