IndiGo improves connectivity in Kolkata and introduces additional domestic and international routes

IndiGo, India’s leading low-cost carrier, has announced new international and domestic routes in Kolkata. The airline is planning to connect Kolkata with new international destinations such as Doha, Dammam, Dhaka, Kabul, Kathmandu, Nasik, Sharjah, and Male. Along with these, IndiGo will add five new domestic routes connecting the city to Agartala, Bagdogra, Coimbatore, Guwahati, and Goa.

The new international routes will strengthen IndiGo’s position as the leading airline from Kolkata while the new domestic routes will open up connectivity for travelers to a host of new destinations from the city. The airline is expecting to double its passenger traffic to 8 million per year through the new international and domestic flights.

IndiGo’s decision will be beneficial to the aviation industry of Kolkata as more people will be able to explore different parts of the country and world with ease. Furthermore, this is also expected to spur the economic growth of the city through the increased connectivity.
