Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican candidate running for South Carolina State Senate, has recently announced that he will be accepting campaign donations in Bitcoin. Ramaswamy made this announcement on Twitter, citing Bitcoin’s convenience and low cost. Ramaswamy also said that this move will widen his network of support and open up the option of donations from individuals from across the country.
Previously, Ramaswamy experimented with cryptocurrency by releasing his “V for Victory token” late in 2020.
The project was designed to help him raise money for his Online Convention 2020 project, a concept developed specifically for the election season. Currently, Ramaswamy is one of the few candidates in the United States that are willing to accept cryptocurrency donations for their campaigns.
