A 13-year-old boy has died after being shot at a New York City playground on Sunday night. The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition but multiple reports indicated he later died from his injuries.
Police arrested a 15-year-old suspect connected to the shooting, who will face charges of murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal use of a firearm.
The shooting took place at Forest Houses, a public housing development in the Morrisania section of the Bronx.
It is not clear what led to the shooting, but police sources told the New York Post that it may have been a dispute between the two teens.
The victim has not yet been identified, and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
