Near the White House, a man of Indian descent slammed his pickup into a security barrier


On the afternoon of 8 October, a truck driver of Indian origin crashed into a security barrier near the White House, in Washington DC, causing the law enforcement and security services to investigate the suspicious incident. The incident happened around 3:00 p.m. when the driver drove the truck towards the White House and crashed into a security barrier at the corner of 17th Street NW and State Place NW, a few blocks from the White House.

No White House staff was injured and no explosive devices were found during the investigation. The driver was immediately taken into custody by the Secret Service and the Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating.

The incident is being assessed by law enforcement and security officials, and no further information has been provided regarding the truck driver.
