A 22-year-old man has been arrested following an incident in which a car crashed through the security gates of the Prime Minister’s residence in London on Friday.
The car, which was being driven erratically, crashed into the security gates leading into 10 Downing Street before coming to a stop. According to police, the man did not appear to be targeting Downing Street or the Prime Minister specifically, and was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, dangerous driving, and burglary.
No members of the public, nor the Prime Minister or his family, were harmed in the incident.
The incident prompted Britain’s security services to review security measures at Downing Street.
