India-Saudi Joint Naval Exercise Al Mohed Al Hindi’s second iteration

The second edition of India-Saudi joint naval exercise ‘Al Mohed Al Hindi-2’ was conducted in the Arabian Sea from 8 to 12 March 2021. The Indian Navy was represented by Indian Naval Ship Beas while the Royal Saudi Navy was represented by its Frigate Al Madinah. The four day exercise aimed at augmenting mutual inter-operability and understanding between the two navies. During the exercise operational drills including Maritime Interdiction/ boarding operations, maneuvering exercises, seamanship evolutions, communication exercises and weapon firing evolutions were conducted.

The first edition of this bilateral exercise was conducted in 2019 and prior to that, the Royal Saudi Naval Forces had participated in Indian Navy’s International Fleet Review 2016.
