OpenAI boss, Sam Altman, recently downplayed fears that the company’s ChatGPT-2 maker could leave Europe due to stricter artificial intelligence (AI) regulations. Altman said that potential regulations would be a “small” factor in the company’s decision, noting that OpenAI’s focus was to create the best product. He added that the company’s priority would be to ensure the technology is developed more safely and ethically. Altman also stated that “Ultimately, I think deep learning is like any technology — it can be used for good or bad, and the world needs to figure out a way to lean in to the power of deep learning while also ensuring it’s not misused.”
